Ron was a wonderful and integral member of our Music Mends Minds family. He was a bright and friendly soul that touched the hearts of many through his winning smile. Ron was also an excellent musician and whistler who could whistle any form of music, even sophisticated classical tunes. He will be dearly missed by MMM and our prayers and love go out to his family! May he Rest in Peace!

Roger was a beutiful and essential part of our Music Mends Family. He brought a smile to all of our faces through his harmonica playing with the 5th Dementia Band and musical talents through Roger and the Bookends. His music not only provided us with beautiful melodies, but also kept us feeling alive and upbeat. He will be missed dearly amongst MMM, and our prayers and love go out to Roger's family. Making Good chronicles actor and musician Kirby Heyborne’s travels across the U.S. as he spends time helping nonprofits. Kirby joined our Beverly Hills Treble Makers and our MMM 5th Dementia Flagship Band music groups and helped lead warm-up exercises on our tri-weekly Zoom platform led by our board certified music therapists. Kirby and his crew also spent time with Bill and Noemia Young and David and Janet Solie to learn firsthand about the powerful impact music can have on those with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and Parkinson’s.

Our episode is filled with tender, funny and poignant moments that capture the essence of MMM. Grab a box of tissues and tune in to BYUtv.

What People Say

"As a teacher, my mother was as fiercely devoted to the young ones in her care as she was to her own children. With such an example, I am inspired to find ways to enrich her life. Singing with the 5th Dementia Band makes her face light up with smiles.  While I welcome any therapeutic value that music may hold, I find the greatest value is in having a place where my mother can experience joy.  I’m so thankful to have found Music Mends Minds."
