Start an MMM Music Group

Step 1: Build a Small Team

Team Building!

You're embarking on a wonderful journey to bring music, joy,
and hope to your community, and the good news is you don't
have to go it alone.

Not only are we here to support you—but we’re going to help
you build a team to help ensure nobody is overwhelmed by
handling all the responsibility, while simultaneously leaning
into the strengths of other community members.

Here are the recommended roles and responsibilities that
typically work for our existing groups. However, we recognize
that no two groups are the same, so feel free to adjust as
needed to build a team that best fits the needs of your
community and reduces the chance of burnout.

Team Roles and Responsibilities

  • If you have no music background, recruit a music leader. Then the responsibilities for this lead will be primarily host & liaison

  • Lead rehearsals by designing sing-along/play-along music sessions for musicians’ band rehearsals

  • Choose songs (taking suggestions from band members into consideration)
